![]() ![]() The TH vehicle might even be a bit better than the Blok Squad one, as its open back provides extra playability.ĭon’t, however, expect the TH effort to be too much better than the previous one. Whereas the the Blok Squad HUMVEE was fairly realistic, I think it’s safe to say that the True Heroes one isn’t based on any real military vehicle. The True Heroes HUMVEE is completely different from the Blok Squad one. One has to wonder why MB opted to downgrade the figures. The True Heroes heads are flat, while the Blok Squad figures get fully sculpted heads. The figures are based on the Bloks Squad soldiers and their only deviation from the formula is their heads. (link to picture.) While I’ve complained about the lack of compatibility between Command Ops-style guns and Blok Squad-style figures, I’m happy to announce that the FAMAS’s grip does, indeed, plug into the back of a figure! We also get four guns: two Command Ops MP5s and two Command Ops FAMASs. Even though the True Heroes soldier is my first black minifig (Thanks a lot, LEGO.) I have to say that I prefer the Stealth figure. The True Heroes figure gets a boring badge and camo design printed on his chest, while the Stealth figure gets a bandoleer and bulletproof vest. We get one True Heroes trooper and one Stealth soldier. The figures are about what one might expect from this kind of set. Maybe the real price difference between True Heroes and HALO lies not in the bricks or figures, but in the number of CPU cycles Mega is willing to spend on the packaging. The other problem is that the back uses the exact same render as the front. It should be interesting to see how the secondary market deals with this, if at all. First off, a large area of the back is dedicated to letting the customer know that, yes, this set is exclusive to Toys R Us. The back of the box is only worth mentioning for two reasons. It may be eye-catching, but it certainly doesn’t look very militaristic. This would only be par for the course if it weren’t for the bright green True Heroes logo spreading over the top. It shows one lone Stealth trooper running from his base to attack the True Heroes HUMVEE with all the necessary explosions and gunfire going off. Let’s start with the larger of the two sets.īloks Forum Topic (Original topic: Dec 19th, 2011) I eagerly purchased the Army Assault and Rescue Rover sets, but school kept me from writing up reviews until now. While most of the set designs weren’t quite as good as those from the Blok Squad army sets, it was clear that this line wouldn’t be plagued with supply issues like Blok Squad was. When the True Heroes sets were found, I was excited. ![]()
